Amado Hidalgo Painting is Back

Whew! My Amado Hidalgo painting is back. In fact it never left its post, where I hung it 3 years ago, in October 2012.

When I asked Edmund to take photos of all the paintings at Ford Cainta, he came home without a photo of Hidalgo. We even had an argument because he insisted he had never seen a painting in the conference room ever. When I requested him to ask the managers, they aggravated the situation by affirming that they have never seen a painting there. And that indeed, there was never a painting there FROM THE BEGINNING.

I cried because I didn’t want to lose that painting (50%) but the other half of my tears was because I was pissed. How could they not notice something that’s a permanent fixture in the conference room.
Eto namang asawa ko, mas naniniwala sa ibang tao kesa sa akin. Paulit-ulit ng tanong kung saan dingding ko isinabit. Para ba akong one hundred years old na ulyanin. Kaya ako napagod at naiyak na.

After I calmed down, I sent my daughter a message thru Viber expressing my exasperation. Ever resourceful, creative, and maabilidad, in seconds, she sent me photos of our employees with the painting on the background. And where was these photos extracted? From their Facebook accounts. Tapos sasabihin nila wala naman talaga dung painting ever since. Dapat ang sagot eh “hindi ko napansin, titingnan ko dun Boss bukas”. And I also wished that that was also my husband’s reaction “Tart, parang hindi ko napapansin dun yung painting kasi bihira lang naman akong pumasok sa conference room, hamo, bukas na bukas hahanapin ko”. At least, merong hope. Hindi yung wala naman talaga dun from the beginning of humanity.

When I woke up the next morning, my painting was sitting on the floor, in our living room. My husband went back to Ford Cainta while I was still asleep. He looked for it and found it. There it was, on that wall. And why didn’t they see it? Because they put up a projector screen with a stand and covered the painting.
