From the antique mall, we drove to Cannery Row. Edmund parked on the street across Starbucks. We were lucky to have found a spot. The area was swarming with people. I stayed in the car with Mochi while father and daughter went inside Starbucks. Ang tagal nila I dozed off. Then the two of them walked to the Cannery Row. I begged off. I was really exhausted and feeling cold. I was also seeing throngs of tourists which would make physical distancing impossible.
In just 10 – 15 minutes, Edmund and Oyen were back. Too many people daw, hard to keep distance. Oyen said she could almost see the virus flying around.
We agreed to just drive back to Carmel for dinner.
Oyen wanted to dine at Anton & Michel but she wasn’t able to secure a table. It’s friday night and rated restaurants are usually packed most especially that their capacities are reduced due to physical distancing.
We went inside the Carmel mall and found the few restaurants already closed. The ramen resto on the lower ground floor was still open. They accepted our order without warning us that they were about to close. It took them a long time, maybe 30 minutes at least to serve our food.
What an extreme, Oyen wanted fine dining on our last night in Carmel, eto nauwi sa ramen.
