Shopping for souvenirs in Aljustrel

June 18, 2018

From the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima we traveled two kilometers to visit Aljustrel, a quaint hilly village where the houses of the three shepherds, Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco were located.

It was hot in the van, hot outside, hot to walk to wherever our tour guide was bringing us.   I was no longer interested to walk under this intense heat. I was contented visiting the Holy Fatima and was no longer interested to visit the museum houses where Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinto lived.   I just wanted to buy some souvenirs. I didn’t have time to buy Fatima souvenirs from the gift shop at the Sanctuary.   Actually I just wanted to rest in a cooler area.    Oyen, Ayleen, Bong and the rest of the FPG group walked the narrow cobbled stones to visit the houses.

Edmund and I stayed behind.  I went shopping for Fatima / Portugal souvenirs while he looked for coffee.

I was tempted to buy some table cloths made in Portugal but decided not to. Namamantsahan lang.

We bought a couple of things from this store. Their prices were much lower.

I found lots of interesting items like the hand painted ceramics but the thought that they could break kept me from buying aplenty.

For some reason we were given plenty of time to hang around Aljustrel. Our tour mates found a cafe where they drank coffee, cold drinks and some pastries.
