The Roman Catholic church I belong to has a new pope. I couldn’t be happier with the choice.
I cried tears of joy while my husband and I watched the television coverage of CNN, Fox News, ABC,
etc.
The chosen one is Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 14, 1955. Only 69, he still is strong and energetic enough to travel the world to foster solidarity, kindness, compassion, respect, and peace.
His mother Mildred Martinez is of Spanish descent while his father, Louis Marius Prevost, is of French Italian descent.
He attended an Augustinian seminary and finished BS Mathematics from Villanova University.
a private Catholic research university in Villanova, Pennsylvania. It was founded by the Order of Saint Augustine in 1842. The university is the oldest Catholic university in Pennsylvania and one of two Augustinian institutions of higher learning in the United States (the other being Merrimack College). (Wikipedia)
He finished Master of Divinity from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, and received a doctorate in Canon Law from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.
I personally believe that having an American pope at this chaotic time is timely. The US has always been at the forefront of world peace and order and could also be the source of the world’s disorder.
There are so many bad things happening around us and our 267th pope, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV will hopefully unite and bring positive impact to the world.

I hope and pray I get to see Pope Leo IV in person in the near future. I was told that Wednesdays and Sundays are the best days to be at the Vatican. I hope he’s there.
