We visited Madrid back in June 2018, and it was incredibly hot. Although we managed to walk around the city, our itinerary was quite limited—we mostly stayed around the cathedral, Gran Vía, and made daily trips to El Corte Inglés. We could only really go out early in the morning or late in the afternoon until nighttime to avoid the heat.
This time, we’re here in spring, and the temperature is much more pleasant. Medyo maginaw, but there’s sun. Ang sarap maglakad-lakad.
I checked my phone’s step counter and realized I only get to walk this much when I’m out of the country. Otherwise, I average around 600 to 1,500 steps a day. Three years ago, I made an effort to reach at least 3,000 steps daily. But lately, even 1,500 steps already make me feel tired, which isn’t good.
Yesterday, as soon as We got settled in, hindi na ako nagbihis, direcho sa kama, tulog!
We went out in the afternoon to see what’s around here and to get dinner.
Lakad kami around the Atocha area. Masarap ang panahon.
Our dinner was not very satisfying. We were more jetlagged, sleepy, than hungry.
This is seafood paella. I know what you’re thinking. Where is the seafood?

Paella is usually cooked in large portions. The menu price was €19.90 per person for a minimum of two people. We only ate a small amount, we couldn’t even finish half of it.
