My son left us in Greenhills and spent the rest of his birthday playing basketball with his friends, eating buffalo wings and hanging out somewhere afterwards.
The couple who got married today at 1:30 pm in Christ the King was Julienne’s acquaintances and she’s attending their grand reception tonight at 7 . “Mom, I need a gift for…..”. Since Edmund has left to get the car, I ran to SM’s Home store on the second floor of Virra Mall. Ran as in takbo talaga. I spent 5 minutes choosing the right gift, a big and tall glass and silver decorative candy holder, candle holder or can be flower vase. I paid and had it wrapped. Voila Oyen has a gift for tonight.
We dropped her off at home, then Edmund and I went to Makati to make a last minute checking.
This is what greeted us. The entrance door was wide open, the guard was sound asleep infront of the big TV.
Edmund’s voice was very loud “Aba, hoy!” but that did not wake him up. Only when Edmund tapped his leg that he opened his eyes, but still dazed. I did not scream at him anymore, I just told him
“Puyat ka ba? Anong oras ka dumating kanina, anong duty mo?” In two sentences I just explained to him that a guard cannot be antukin like him. I wrote his agency a letter yesterday.
Edmund met with the remaining painters, carpenters, etc. It was like an exit-interview.
I distributed their last pay checks. Hindi pala, pay cash. I had to re-do the computation because the payroll clerk failed to separate the money individually and the computation was sobra.
Doors in the service department have been painted with a gray strip. This is Edmund’s idea, very good idea, kasi that portion always gets dirty.
Looking good, we can now party
I suddenly have an onset of migraine and unfortunately I left my medicine bottle in the plane from Tokyo to Manila.
We’re supposed to buy wines and liquors, etc. but uwi na kami.
When we got home, Oyen has left for the wedding reception. She texted which got me worried “Ma, I feel so bad I wanted to cry”. Yung pala she tripped and dropped the gift on the floor. Basag. She had nothing to give to the couple.
