Wedding reception in Glen Cove - Oh My Buhay

Wedding reception in Glen Cove

Table assignments. Oyen would be at  #10 together with the younger group while I was assigned to #7.

I went to Table #7. The people there have reserved the few vacant seats. A man said it’s for his wife. An old woman told me it’s for her husband. The father of the bride told me the two vacant seats were reserved for the parents of the groom.
I counted the seats, none for me, so I left and looked for some vacant seats at other tables. Maya-maya, Ate Linda was looking for me, she asked me to transfer to table #7 where I belong. I told her, galing na ko dun eh sabi nga reserved na daw. I went back to Table #7, same thing happened, occupied na daw.
After a few minutes, they sent Junjun to tell me to move to #7. Mayamaya, Kuya naman ang humanap sa akin because we’re supposed to be seated together.
I went with him, but I told him I’ll just sit somewhere else.

This is just the right size for intimate gatherings. It’s not small but not too big like hotel ballrooms.

There’s an artist in a corner, near the entrance, who’s trying to capture the event on canvass.
I asked if the finished art would be for sale. Hindi daw. It would be a gift to the couple.

Amanda & Randy paid him $1,200 for his professional fee. They get to keep the painting in return.  It’s basically a $1,200 painting.    I forgot his name but he’s been featured on tv and newspaper.

First cousins Doick and Oyen. Doick is married to Shelly, a school principal, and they have two super gwapo twin boys.

We all got a piece of cloth or scarf from Nepal. Amanda helped build a school for impoverished children in Nepal.

All the tables were decorated with fresh hydrangeas from the estate’s garden.

Kuya—- “Oyen you look like a bride”.
Me—— “Wala pang groom”.

We were made to choose from among 3 Entrees:

a) Roasted French Stuffed Chicken Breast with Mushroom Duxelle and Boursin cheese,

b) Crusted Salmon with Horseradish Cream Sauce

c) Grilled Filet Mignon with Port wine Au ju

(Au Ju is commonly used as an expression in Binangonan, Rizal.  When you think someone is lying or making-up stories,  you say “Adyuuu, imbento lang yan.  O kaya  “Adyuuu, hambog!”

I chose Chicken Breast.
