For the love of her brother, Oyen bought macarons from Laduree, allegedly the ones who invented the double-decker macarons  in 1930.
She hand carried them or else madudurog.  My son loves macarons but we’re worried he would be too fat and too sweet (laughs).

Louis-Ernest Laduree opened his bakery in Paris in 1862.   His bakery was burnt in 1871 during the civil war but it was rebuilt.   Their popularity surged in 1930 when his grandson Pierre Desfontaines put a creamy ganache  filling in between two macaron shells.  It became an instant hit most especially to women.

Sugar lovers queue-up to buy the perfect 100% French made macarons, shipped every day to its branches outside of France.  Around 20,000 pieces of this colorful concoctions are sold every day.
