On July 15, Monday, Oyen and I woke-up earlier than usual to prepare for our 2 pm flights.
First time we went out before noon and had breakfast.
We went to an all-American diner around the corner.
We had waffles, strips of bacon and sunny side-up eggs.

We turned over the key to the landlord, Cleber.
He’s Brazilian and has a salon nearby.
He has another guest coming in the afternoon. Kaya medyo he’s in a hurry kasi he’s going to clean the apartment still.
He helped us carry our luggage down to the entrance.

I do not dream of living in NY, but  leaving the city last monday was difficult.

Oyen and I rode together to the airport as our flights were more or less at the same time. I paid $63. He asked for $65 pero naubos na pera ko.

She accompanied me to the check-in counter and walked me to my gate.

I had some mother moment.  I felt so emotional.  I was gripped with sadness that the two of us were going on separate directions.   She’s flying Delta from JFK to Narita then back to Manila. I was flying to SFO to visit my siblings.

When I told her that morning that I wanted to go home with her and would just come back after a few days with Edmund, she said “Ano ka mayaman?”

Ewan ko ba pero hirap talaga ako in situations like this.  To think that I would be seeing her in two weeks.   Are all mothers like me?   Dalaga na ang anak ko, pano kaya pag bumukod na sya?  Pag meron na syang sarili nyang pamilya,  baka iiyak-iyak ako araw-araw.  Dyos ko.   Ngayon palang, naiiyak na ako. I am so dramatic.
