Every time we’re in the Bay Area, we just went to the same places, ate in the same restaurants.

One of our must-visit places is the IKEA Home Furnishings in Emeryville, about 20 minutes drive from Aileen’s house.

Ikea is like a tourist spot. Try not to go on weekends, parking is scarce, check-in counters are clogged, and it would take 15 minutes to buy a cone of ice cream.

We saw a nice sporty Tesla car re-charging its batteries at the IKEA parking building.
The exterior was impressive.

Last year, they offered free breakfast if you come a few minutes before the store opens. They stopped that, siguro kasi people just came to eat for free, tapos hindi naman nagsa-shopping. Ngayon, they will deduct the cost of your food if your total store purchase reached $150.
Edmund paid $15.45 for our food. Edmund forgot to get the receipt. In one minute, he went back to the cashier to claim it, she said she threw the receipt away.
Edmund told me what happened. Ako ang pumunta dun sa babae. I told her “Where’s our food receipt? You threw it away? Why would you throw it away. We need that because we’re going to purchase more than $150?”

In a few minutes, she gave us a receipt for $15.50 clearly not ours, but okay na lang din. The $15.50 was deducted from our total purchase. Sayang din yun.

Their sundae cone is the cheapest around here at $1 each. I’ve heard, Sammy Lim of Blim’s was able to get Ikea’s franchise for the Philippines. I hope the price of their sundae cone would be cheaper than $1, Sana 10 pesos lang.

I took one feather duster and rolled it on Edmund’s left arm.
Me——- “Tart, kiliti ka?”
No reaction.
Sinoli ko, Tapos kinuha ko uli. Edmund said “Why don’t you get it, panglinis ng kotse”.
Me——– (laughs) Pangkiliti sana sayo.
Edmund—– Ay, sus.
