Living is becoming more and more complicated. Because of the new discoveries, inventions, technologies, we are bombarded with a lot of choices. I am not sure if all these new things contribute in making our lives better or we, happier. I think in many ways, the many choices presented to us even make our lives complicated. We become too discerning and choosy. We have become too discriminating and self indulgent. We become indecisive and fickle.
I don’t really know how much of our excesses made us happier and better persons.
All these commercialism and product innovations make us confused and we end up unhappy sometimes.
Take for example ITLOG. Nung araw, ang itlog ng manok lang ay yung native. Tapos biglang meron ng white leghorn. Luto? Nilaga, prito, or malasado (para sa Sarsaparilla).
Ngayon,
Ayaw kainin ni Edmund, kasi sobrang tingkad ng kulay, mukhang hindi itlog. So instead of eating the egg, he didn’t even want to touch it.
