1. I panicked when I saw an adult ipis crawling in the living room. I ran to the kitchen looking for a bottle of alcohol but there’s none. In panic, I grabbed a blue plastic folder with construction drawings and dropped it on the ipis with all my might.

Ipis hit by notebook

I was not at all interested to see how the ipis looked like, dead. I left the notebook there on the floor, sure that when Edmund wakes up the next morning, he would either pick it up or call the housegirl. Either way works for me, as long as it’s not me. Yayks.

To prevent my kids from picking up the folder, I placed a note– ipis here.

I’ve been following the advise of one of Oh my buhay readers to spritz alcohol on the ipis instead of making pukpuk. Yes, that works faster than pouring all sorts of things like shampoo, conditioner, detergent.
My bathroom is ipis invested that’s why I have at least two big bottles of alcohol ready anytime.

2. I saw Lucy’s face bleeding and with a big open wound. I thought she got out of our gate and got into trouble. Oyen said her wounds are self-inflicted. She keeps scratching her eye and scrapes her skin as a consequence. Today, Oyen sent her to the vet.

3. Barred from frying chicken for the next 3 months, Antonia’s dishes are pochero everyday and nilagang baka every other day. Pocherong chicken or pocherong baka or pocherong baboy, choose.

4. Hillary Clinton is reportedly running for president again. Edmund will vote for her except he’s not an American citizen. Her opponents would surely trumpet Bill Clinton’s alleged sexual indiscretions to shoo voters away from her. Hillary is friendly to Filipinos.

5. Mayor Herbert Bautista’s on the headline. He is smitten daw with a new girl from Davao, an assemblywoman in Korea.
I am sure there’s some guy deserving of Kris Aquino’s love and attention that is looming in the dark and soon his love will find Kris. Kris doesn’t have to look, a more deserving love will find her.

6. I bought a new pair of garden scissors from Wilcon Builders for P250.
As soon as I got off the van, I asked for the scissor, drop my handbag in the garage and I started cutting unruly branches and leaves from plants in front of our house, outside the fence. The driver joined me by cutting the bigger branches while I continued to trim the smaller plants and flowers.
It was only after I stopped that I felt pain on my right hand, nasugatan pala ako.

8. Edmund bought a sack of brown rice. No daw, rice vendors no longer call it brown rice. Red rice na daw. And there are too many varieties to choose from. Choosing is confusing and time consuming.

9. I’ve been coming home late. Last Monday I left the office at almost 11 pm because the accountants in the office needed guidance. Why are people like that? I already instructed them to do our financial statements as soon as the calendar year closes. They wait for the last two minutes before they move their ____. Napagod ako pag sermon. Kulo na dugo ko.

I was dead tired when I got on the car. I closed my eyes to relax a little. Then I noticed we were not moving. It was still moderate to heavy traffic at close to midnight.

Siguro puro accountants itong mga nasa kalye pa, nag-overtime. Hayan kasi, sinabi ng malayo pa tapusin na ang mga financial statements. And even without the April deadline, financial statements must be finished in January. They are important for management, stakeholders, owners, to analyze how they did the previous year, and what department or cost center needs improvement. Reports are tools for better business planning. It’s hard to operate blindly, without knowing how you are faring and where you are going. #verydisappointed

10. Edmund needs a copy of our marriage contract. Baka itatago para sure hindi ko sya iiwan or baka naman punitin sa inis sa akin.
He’s been asking me to look for a copy wala akong makita. . I searched from one envelope to another and found the original in a plastic folder. I also found a piece of document folded inside a clear plastic. This is my birth certificate pala. Eto na naman ako, biglang nag-emote-emote. I remembered my mom giving it to me when I already had two children. Sabi nya itago kong mabuti. Parang maluluha ako while looking at my birth certificate.

11. After I gave him a towel, an old man took out some things from his pocket, tucked it inside the towel, folded it and gave the towel back to me. Huwag ko daw ipamigay yun, it’s for me, at meron na daw yun blessing ni Jesus.
