Even when I was sick, I didn’t skip the Sunday mass. Oh I think I missed one, the one time when I was really feeling bad.
There were several nuns distributing solicitation envelopes at the church’s entrance.
It’s for the construction of their monastery in Davao.
Edmund and I sat down at the back end, we always do, we never sat in the front rows except when my kids were still small.
I was feeling a little tired but glad to have made it to church.
My throat spray was on stand-by in case my cough gets in the way of the mass’s solemnity.
The priest, Fr. Bong Guerrero was very good. His Homily was easy to understand and he used layman’s terms and jokes to come across. His topic was about HAPPINESS. He said to be happy is a matter of choice, see beyond the imperfections.
He compiled his jokes in a P200 book. I bought a copy to support his mission—to spread the word of God thru his jokes (happiness).
Some of his jokes are:
Pabili ng suka
Relate na relate ako dito. I’ve been going to and from the doctors’ clinics lately, puro ” hinga ng malalim, sige pa, ulit, inhale, exhale, very good, one more, hinga ng malalim…”
Those who wish to purchase a copy of his book Happy Happy Me by Fr. Bong Guerrero, you may buy from Christ the King Parish, Greenmeadows Avenue, Quezon City.
Glad you’re feeling better! I agree happiness is a matter of perspective. I also think that it’s normal (and human) to have moments of deep despair or sorrow or even just a feeling of blah/unease. Live what you feel, I guess but, always remain hopeful.
