The team’s support group got two t-shirts each. Edmund said all the shirts would be returned because the arm holes were all tight. He wore this to the game yesterday.
The UST Growling Tigers lost their first UAAP Season 79 game yesterday against the more experienced Ateneo Blue Eagles.
Ateneo’s player #8 stood out and there were also some others who could shoot from afar. In contrast, I didn’t notice one UST player who played exceptionally well. There was no single person who stood out. Or maybe there was, baka I just didn’t notice.
When Edmund was still actively playing basketball, the minute he released the ball I already knew if it would go through or not. I could see the ball’s straight path, or if the ball was tilting outward. For a seasoned player, one would feel if his shot would be ringless (inside the goal). This’ the same feeling when he plays golf. The moment he hits the ball, he already feels it if his swing is good or jabong. In basketball, it’s a mortal sin not to at least hit the ring when shooting unless you’re a beginner to the game. Your calculation of the distance between your hands and the ring must be precise.
Ateneo dominated the fourth and last quarter by shooting from the outside and with a better defense and offense.
UST’s cheering and dance group proved themselves worthy of adulation when they continued and finished their sterling half-time presentation despite the failure of the background music just seconds after they began their well-choreographed dance routine complete with flip and tumbles and breathtaking air-tosses.
Despite the loss, Go USTE remains.
