The Ruins of St. Andrews Cathedral

Edmund and I had been here before at the ruins of St. Andrews Cathedral in Fife, Scotland.
Same photos. The only difference is that there are more tourists today, it’s sunny and therefore the place doesn’t look as creepy and gloomy as when we were here in October of 2013.

Judging from the footprints of this cathedral, it’s obviously very large and must have been really grand. It is reportedly the largest church in Scotland. It was built in 1158 but it deteriorated when it was abandoned by the Archdiocese of St. Andrews when the celebration of the Holy Mass was outlawed in the 16th century.

Every church we’ve visited all over Europe has a cemetery either inside the building or on the church’s grounds. Creepy.

Nice photo subject but not for wedding pre-nups. Weird, but I like looking at the ages of the dead, their birthdays, date died, dedications, etc. It makes me sad when the person died young.
