After we had dropped off our bags at Coachman’s Inn and doubled our jackets, we are now out looking for a place to eat.

This giant tall tree is eye catching.

The  older I get the more photos of trees you’ll see on my posts. Far more than photos of my face.
Carmel
We don’t have a reservation in any restaurant and no clear plan on where to dine, what we prefer to eat. We’re just walking and deciding which restaurant catches our attention.

Edmund remembers passing by La Bicyclette restaurant daily when we were here in Carmel last year with Oyen and Mochi.  We wanted to dine here then but they were always full.  And because at that time, they only had outdoor dining because of the high Covid infections.

In just 10 minutes, we now are seated outdoors and staring at the menu. They offer French-Italian cuisine using fresh ingredients.

It’s chilly and dark

We are certainly enjoying this very chilly night.

Our short vacation here in Carmel is our way of finding moments to spend together.   We’re so grateful that the heavens give us the time, the energy, and some resources to do the things that we are doing.

Oooh pizza pitza pies!   No one is dieting tonight.  We never do anyway.
Two delicious pizzas on wooden tables ready to eat.
Because of schedule conflicts, Nyke couldn’t join us last year when Oyen, Mochi were with us.  Ngayon naman, sya ang kasama namin, wala si Oyen.  Ayaw na naming isama sa staycation si Mochi kasi she scratches the hotel doors and many restaurants don’t allow dogs unless it’s a service dog.

ECY—-“Hindee, konti lang yanm kaya nating ubusin yan.”

The waitress recommends that we order this, Mr. Yee obliges.  I don’t even know what this is.  And I am not curious to even taste it.

Something else is coming?

The family that loves to eat together end up with high cholesterol.  I am not joking.

My husband knows I like oysters so even if I tell him not to order, he would still order for me.  Sya naman he only eats one piece.  I like oysters but not all the time, and I only like the ones at Hog Island Oysters because of their cilantro vinaigrette.

Too much food.

A generous tip is coming because we’re happy with the service and the waitress knows how to make us eat more and the waiter is happy to take our pictures.

The owners of La Bicyclette probably named their restaurant after the 1968 record album of Yves Montand, a French singer.
