$2,000 PAL fare difference - Oh My Buhay

$2,000 PAL fare difference

I thought my return to Manila is on October 17. I only realized tonight that it’s supposed to be tomorrow. I called I fly PAL to re-book my ticket to November 4 and the person on the other line said I have to pay $75 no show fee plus $250 re-booking fee and a fare difference of $2,031.

What??? She said the round trip fare for November is $3,900+. I told her then why do I have to pay more than half as fare difference? I’ve already used one way and if there’s a fare difference then it should be pro-rated.
Imagine if I disregard my ticket and buy a new one, one way to Manila, that would be $3,149.10. One way. This is insane.

She reminded me that my ticket will expire on December 5. At this point it doesn’t matter anymore if I use my ticket or not. Based on PAL’s rules, I still have to shell out a ridiculous amount of money for a one way ticket.

I don’t know what to do. This is crazy.
