I went to a doctor’s clinic yesterday afternoon.
After my consultation, I spent some 30 minutes listening to the lady doctor’s stories about people close to her. I don’t consider this as tsismis because it’s not intended to sow gossip. There are lessons to be learned and thoughts to ponder about.

Ms. B lived a luxurious life, wallowing in cash. She collected 30 Hermes bags. I could only conclude that she probably was attracted to Birkin’s vibrant colors. I don’t know how many colors are available but she probably has every color there is.

Last year, her husband travelled to Malaysia on a business trip. He collapsed and fell into a coma. He was brought home but his first family took him back and they’re now the ones lovingly caring for his comatose body. Hindi pala nya totoong husband yun.

After a few months, she was diagnosed with cancer of the colon. It was already in Stage 4 when discovered. She now has sold all her expensive bags including the 30 Hermes bags, her millions worth of fine jewelries, to finance her cancer treatments. She is currently in financial distress because when her benefactor got sick, naturally, all money supplies ended.

Thoughts to ponder:
When you were still well, what did you need 30 Hermes bags for? You could have just kept 10 and spent the rest of your riches in more meaningful ways. When money flows like water, let us ask why such blessings? Maybe it’s not intended really for us to shop to death. Maybe we are just being used as a conduit for the better good. If you have dozens of Birkin bags, sell two and give the proceeds to the patients at the Cancer Ward of the Philippine General Hospital.

I wish that she’s able to recover from her serious sickness.
