My daughter enjoyed the 10 hours overnight train from Paris to Milan on May 29/30 more than the 7 hours daytime ride back to Paris on June 3, 2014. We were on our own kasi in the cabin and we could lay down flat with pillows and white cotton sheets. The daytime ride only allowed us to sit down and the location of our seats were not so nice although we were in the 1 classe couch.
Milano Garibaldi train station
Beautiful scenery
Several kilometers long of breathtaking granite mountains
No free food. There’s a bar couch with pastries and beverages
Serenely charming Lake Annecy.
Lake Annecy is at the boarder of Geneva, Switzerland and France.
After seven hours, we’re back in this overwhelmingly beautiful city of Paris, this time to attend the Global Summit of Women at the Marriott Rive Gauce Hotel and Conference Center in Saint Jacques.
Taxi from Gare du Nord to Marriott. Bantot nung taxi driver. pagbaba ko, pareho na kami ng amoy, humawa na sa akin.
I booked a regular room good for two people but when we checked in, they would not take 3 people because the regular room could only accommodate 2. I had no choice but to upgrade to a junior suite for another Euro 115 a night. I asked for a discount, and instead of giving me a monetary discount, the front desk officer, Joel, upgraded us to a family suite. It’s Euro 150 a night additional but he gave it at the same rate as a junior suite, 115 plus the regular room rate of 208, that summed up to Euro 323 a night. Hotel rooms are really expensive here in Paris, unless you stay outside of Paris or in so-so hotel or in apartels.
My comfortable home for 5 nights
Oyen has a dresser pa overlooking the neighboring buildings.
My work station for several days. Kunwari working, blogging lang pala.
Marriott is where the conference would be held and I prefer to be here for convenience.
I didn’t want to go out anymore after we checked in. Masakit na likod ko. Namiss ko bigla si Edmund, magaling yang maglagay ng Salonpas.
My children still had so much energy, they walked outside and found a Chinese cafeteria.
We just ate in the room.
Wow, ang sarap, a welcome respite from all those pizza and pasta.
