In 1982, when one of our UST classmates bought a brand new Mitsubishi Lancer, it became the talk of the town (among our UST batch). He paid P75,000 for the full amount of the boxy car. Syempre when I saw him, he was trying to be humble but the look on his face, and his smile beamed “I own this Lancer!” Lahat naman ng mga classmates namin eh inggit. Why not? P75,000 could buy a medium sized house and lot in those days. Hindi pa uso ang condo nun, condom pa lang.
Thirty three years later, P75,000 is only good for a down-payment for a similar sized-sedan. Uso na ang condo ngayon, at hindi na uso ang condom kaya ang daming may aids.
Add a little more to make it 88,000 and you can have this Ford Focus. (Commercial yan). There’s a new promo every now and then. I don’t know until when the 88,000 promo is valid.
