I informed some friends and acquaintances that I was looking for a personal assistant in case they wanted to recommend someone.
Beth highly recommended her former officemate, who she vouched is very hardworking.
I had a full schedule this week and the next, so I decided to interview her today at my residence. Since she was recommended by someone I knew, I was comfortable letting her come to my house.
I interviewed her today.
I liked that she’s had many work experiences such as a sales agent for industrial supplies, liaison, admin, etc. She is okay with commuting, going to government offices, and taking public transportation. She seemed game, kahit ano ang iutos.
After 15 minutes, I was still on the fence if I will consider her. The job is not a typical office work. She will be acting as my social secretary, doing admin work, and attending to personal matters, and many more. She’ll be accompanying me in some social and official events, in my provincial trips, etc. In the future, when I have become more comfortable with her, I will bring her to some of my travels to attend to my personal needs.
From the start of our conversation, she was double-guessing what I was saying. Dinuduktungan nya ang sentences ko, thinking that she knew what I would say next or what I meant. Ayoko nyan.
She said she was wondering why I was interviewing her at my house, and she guessed the reason.
Being a personal assistant, she’ll be privy to many things about me. Where I live, my family, what I do, where I go, etc. It’s a must that this job demands discretion and trustworthiness. Hindi pwede ang madaldal.
I asked her pointblank.
A—–“Tsismosa ka ba?”
Job Applicant—— “Kailangan ba tsismosa? Bakit? Marites ba kailangan? Pwede rin ako Maritess,
Ooops, wrong answer. She could have simply answered “No, hindi ho ako tsismosa”.
Instead, she threw me a question.
Failed.
