We arrived at Catalonia Puerta del Sol in Madrid city center at around 10 a.m. today, but our room wasn’t ready yet.
Hindi naman kami gutom, but we asked the front desk, Alessandro, where we could have breakfast. He pointed to a restaurant right across the street, La Rollerie, and said it was very good.
The place was literally just a dozen steps from the hotel entrance.
The moment we walked in, I liked it already. Type ko yung ganitong ambience: cozy, charming, and inviting. Parang ang sarap lang umupo, mag-relax, and enjoy a slow start of the morning in Madrid.
Excited to eat. Hayan ang nakakataba. Hindi naman talaga gutom pero gustong kumain.
Breakfast comes with coffee or tea. I ordered tea but they didn’t have what I like, tarragon. I settled for orange and chocolate daw. I sipped a few times, tapos, tapos na.

Hindi pa nakahilamos at nakasuklay.

Aba, ngayon ko lang napansin, ang liit pala nung lamesa.
Our table was a bit too small for the number of big plates we had. But somehow it added to the charm. Parang part na rin siya ng whole café experience, intimate, a little chaotic, but cozy in its own way.
The eggs were perfectly cooked and the bacon didn’t have fats. I thoroughly enjoyed our food and I look forward to dining here again, except that the hotel has buffet breakfast.
