He is now the country’s most sought-after violinist, performing on tv, corporate events, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and the like. He played at the 40th wedding anniversary of Susing and Maritess Pineda at the Taal Vista Lodge in Tagaytay. He was there too at the wedding of Annie Cuevas, daughter of Ambassador Filemon Cuevas at the Blue Leaf Pavillon. I saw him again two weeks ago at the Shangrila Hotel’s Read at the launching of Crosswinds and The Hudsons, real estate projects of the Villar’s Vista Land and Brittany.
He has the same name as Arnel Pineda’s step-daughter Justice.
Justice Cayuca or Jay for short came by my office this afternoon.
We were supposed to meet at the Mandarin Hotel right after my meeting with Johnny Litton but he was coming from a client in Bulacan so we moved the time to 4 pm and he instead came to my office. Just like what Johnny and I did earlier, we went over the program and I highlighted the estimated times that he would be playing. With all the adulation and success he is now reaping, I was really surprised na wala syang-ka-ere-ere.
Jay told me about this couple from Hongkong who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Westin Philippine Plaza Hotel, oh I think it’s now Sofitel. He said the guy is one of the owners of the hotel. There was a spectacular fireworks display while he played the violin for 7 long minutes. The husband was inspired by the ending of the movie Joe Black. It was the birthday of Anthony Hopkins and a grand party was held at the back of their mansion at the Hamptons. The ending showed fireworks display while a live band played. Jay said the HK guy paid P100,000 per minute of fireworks display which meant that he spent P700,000 plus Jay Cayuca‘s talent fee of course for that 7 minutes of fantasy. Jay said the couple was so cute and romantic, they were holding hands while watching the fireworks display.
