I seldom catch TV Patrol and even the late night news program Saksi. Sometimes, I feel I don’t miss a thing because I feel that most of the reports are the same, nasagasaan sa Commonwealth, pulis nangotong timbog, naputulan ng leeg na naka motorsiklo, ginahasa na kapitbahay, chinop-chop na katawan natagpuan, bank and pawn shop robberies, spa or ktv kuno ni-raid kasi front ng prostitusyon. Minsan naman merong mga good news. Hmmmm, teka na me-mental block ako. Good news………. oh, ikinasal na si Zoren Legaspi at Carmina Villaruel.
The best part of this program for me is the ending wherein Boy Abunda does a short interview of celebrities.
This segment was introduced maybe a year or two ago, but so far, I have only seen no more than 12. My favorite was when Tito Boy (that’s how the guests call him, pati ako makiki- tito na rin) interviewed Mig Ayesa. Boy asked him to sing a few lines from several songs. Sobrang bitin, I wished he sang the whole song/s.
Mig Ayesa was in Manila in June till July 2012 and performed as Stacie Jaxx in the Rock of Ages musical, unfortunately I was in Hayward that time.
My favorite part of Boy Abunda‘s interview is the “Ikaw na Tito Boy”. After every interview, Boy Abunda would say, (halimbawa si Mig Ayesa)
“Mig Ayesa, ikaw na!
Guests practice beforehand how they would reply the standard and required answer, merong straightforward, merong pa-cute, merong dramatic. Let’s try, feeling celebrity kunwari
Boy Abunda———– “Annie Tan-Yee, ikaw na!”
Me——————- Thank you.
Boy Abunda ——— No, you’re supposed to answer No, Tito Boy, Ikaw Na.
Me——————- Oh, ganun ba. Sige.
Boy Abunda———– Let’s do it again. Annie Tan-Yee, ikaw na!
Me——————- Ano na nga yun? Pls repeat, sorry na senior moment ako.
Boy Abunda———– Ano ba ito. Sige, One last time, Ay day, sino ka na nga ba?
Me——————- Tito Boy, Annie Tan-Yee ito, Ako na!
Mig Ayesa is a world class artist. He’s so good, pwedeng ihilera kila Arnel Pineda at sa mga international singers. I would like to watch his concert someday. No, I changed my mind. I want him to come to my party instead and sing for me, Edmund, Oyen and Nyke. Maybe on my 55th birthday. Lapit na yan, 10 years na lang, he he he.
