Traffic along EDSA on wednesday night was really bad. What’s new? Edmund called the MMDA hotline to find out what’s causing the gridlock. The guy said the congestion’s all the way to Tramo. Wala naman daw, nakaharang lang ang mga jeeps and buses.
I actually lose interest when concerts are held in SM Arena. Our family prefers the Araneta Coliseum due to its proximity to our house.
It’s 8 pm and we don’t want to be late for the Aerosmith concert.
We moved away from EDSA and took the side streets until we reached San Andres Bukid.
Hey, what is that? Is that white guy begging for money? Yes, he is.
Edmund and I couldn’t believe our eyes. What is he doing in the middle of the road? Is he drunk??
He’s asking for money from the motorists.
He is puti. And what the heck is he doing? If only Edmund wasn’t with me, if only we’re not trying to catch a concert, talagang I would get off my car and talk to that guy. Papakialaman ko talaga ang buhay nya. I would bring him to DSWD, Bureau of Immigration, or his respective embassy so they could take care of him.
We saved at least an hour by avoiding the EDSA grid lock. We got to the SM Arena at almost 9 pm.
The concert is at 8 pm but there’s a front act- the band Rivermaya.
Me——- “Tart, para sa VIP yata yan”.
Edmund— “Kahit saan pwede”.
Me——- “Hindi naman tayo VIP, baka tayo paalisin”.
Edmund— “Bahala na”.
Chris Tiu (in gray shirt). He was behind us but we let them go first.
I spotted Sam Milby, Vina Morales and other celebrities. There’s a camera focused on this group.
Siguro celebrities sila, however (apologies), I don’t know their names yet.
About a minute after we’ve entered the lobby, there’s a pretty lady that approached me.
“Hi, Can we have our picture taken with you?” She was holding a camera or a celphone.
I wasn’t sure if I heard her right or if she’s speaking to me or someone else.
I think she repeated her request.
I said “Why?”. Baka kako napagkamalan lang ako, I wasn’t sure if she was referring to someone else. Or baka organizer sya, and they want to take photos of the audience.
She answered– “Because we’re avid readers of your blog”.
I was still not sure if she was referring to ohmybuhay. Then I think she repeated it and her companions did too.
I turned to Edmund and told him that they want to have a picture with me, because they are avid readers of ohmybuhay. Edmund was amazed.
I think Candy and Kim are sisters.
I hope I don’t mix up their names, from left to right:
Cindy and Ken Trajano, Benson and Kim Ng.
My daughter said they’re all so cute.
I asked how they found out about my blog. They said it was Benson who found it first, but Benson couldn’t remember when and how. They said Benson sent me an email about our former cook Cherry, who also worked for them briefly. That must be a year ago.
Thank you guys for reading ohmybuhay. I really do appreciate it.
Edmund was hungry and the concert was about to start. We bought muna hotdogs and popcorn.
The Arena was not full. There’s a standing room only section around the ramp. Pag dito ka, you can touch the feet of Steven Tyler. Pero hindi ako pwede nakatayo, rarayumahin ako. Magkaka stiff neck ka for looking -up.
We’re on one row with the Ford people. Josie Gonzales (smiling).
Ford Phils. president Randy Krieger and his wife Yvonne were there too. They left today for Thailand. I wanted to see their baby yesterday but I was tied up with work. Randy was transferred to the Ford regional headquarters in Thailand. I hope to see them again soon. They’re two very nice people.
Iphone is a disappointment when it comes to zooming. Pang close up shots lang sya.
Yung kanta ni Steven Tyler, sinasabayan ko ng kain ng popcorn. I made the mistake of buying a big container. I couldn’t finish it.
Aerosmith is Steven Tyler. He’s the star. He could play rin pala the piano.
After about 9 songs, Edmund said
“Uwi tayo ‘Tart. Hayan nakita mo na si Steven Tyler, uwi na tayo. Meron din namang Tyler sa bahay.”
(He’s referring to our shihtzu named Tyler- the boyfriend of Twinkle and the dad of Stitch).
For a few minutes, their drummer stole the show.
Sobrang binging-bingi ako after the concert. I saw most people also touching or covering their ears. Some were shaking their heads, parang yung nag-swimming na nalagyan ng tubig.
Nakakabingi pala pag ganyan ang tug-tog. Up until I was about to go to bed, bingi pa rin ako, para akong sumakay sa eroplano. Ano pa kaya pag nanood kami ng Guns and Roses, baka malaglag na ang ear drums ko.
Oyen asked Edmund two weeks ago “is mommy going to watch Guns and Roses? ”
Medyo I am having second thoughts. Baka after the concert eh mag-hearing aid na ako.
Hi Ms. Annie. The highlight of our evening was meeting you. Thank you for being so warm and accommodating.
Thank you Cindy. It was a pleasure meeting you 4.
