I was hungry but didn’t know where to eat, what to eat. I went up 3 flights from Williams-Sonoma to Bar Masa. Oyen and I used to frequent this restaurant because we liked the food most especially their Kobe Beef Rice. I peeked but I changed my mind. I looked at their menu but didn’t find our old favorites.
Their menu had been changed. Not surprisingly because the last time I’ve been here was 5 years ago.
I left time Warner Building and just walked back to our apartment. I crossed to the other side para naman I would see different stores, buildings, and restaurants.
After 3 or 4 blocks, I saw CHAI Thai restaurant. It was full of people at 9:30 pm. I scanned their menu which was displayed on the window and I also noticed their Zagat rating.
I went inside and luckily, they still had a table for one.
Service was fast
I recognized this couple who was also at Caffe Bene when Oyen and I were there a couple of nights ago. What a small world. They probably live just around here.
I had Thai crab cakes $8.
Sauteed jumbo shrimps with mushrooms, Chinese five spices, and crispy garlic $16
Fried Ice Cream with mint leaves, cream, and orange honey syrup $4
I convinced Oyen to come with me to Chai tonight. She liked it too.
Delicious Chai Home Style steamed peanut dumpling $5
Chicken Satay with peanut sauce $6
Fried Ice Cream with mint leaves, cream, and orange honey syrup $4
I was completely taken by their fried ice cream. I am going to miss this for sure.
