I think I’ve told this story before. One time, I was traveling with some businessmen accompanying then Pres. Erap Estrada, we were at the lobby of a building maybe in China, when someone introduced me to two guys, that I was from Ford daw. One guy asked “How much is a Lincoln Town car?”. That time it was P2.6M . His next question was “are you included?”
I grabbed his left arm with my right hand, gripped it firmly. I moved my face closer to his face, I looked straight into his eyes and told him “you cannot afford me”.
From then on, he’s nice to me na and respectful.
One guy naman from PCCI did something similar. At a sit-down luncheon hosted by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a colleague of mine introduced me to the guys seated at the table. One officer asked me how much was a Ford Explorer. Ganun din ang sinabi, kung kasama ba daw ako dun sa presyo. I smiled and told him “bastos ka pala!” in front of the other people. My colleague was so embarrassed, nahiya sya sa akin. He re-introduced me by saying, “Sila ang may-ari”. It didn’t matter kung ako ang may-ari o ahente lang ako, bastos talaga sya.

O baka naman iniisip nya kasama ako para merong tiga linis ng sasakyan nya, abah, ganyan na ba’ko ka pangit?

These two examples are similar to the magkano ka situation.
