Il Divo Concert - Oh My Buhay

I got so excited after I saw the concert announcement of Il Divo with Lea Salonga at Resorts World.

I am so excited. I want to watch. I immediately called up Ticketworld.
Ticket prices are
VIP P32,100
Patron 26,750
Premier 21,400
Balcony 16.050
Zone 5 8,560 (sold out)

Per person yan ha, hindi per barangay.

I looked for Edmund. He was in his bathroom. I stood behind the door.
A———- “Tart, tart, I want to watch the concert of Il Divo”.
E———- “O”
A———- “Ang mahal naman ng tickets. Yung kay Bruno Mars 16,000”.
E———- “Eh si Bruno Mars yun”.
A———- Yung Il Divo thirty two thousand”.
E———- Bakit ang mahal? Sikat ba sila?

When I watch concerts, I prefer to sit  close enough so I could see the faces of the artists. Ayaw ko nung parang langgam sa liit, or else I would just buy a dvd concert and watch at home.

I am so disappointed. P32,100 x 4 px = P128,400 Dyos ko po. I could build three decent toilets in Binangonan with that amount.

Even if I go to Premier P21,400 x 4 = P 85,600. Ewan pero parang hindi tama that I would spend P85,600 for a two hour musical entertainment. O siguro pang mayaman lang talaga yung show. Since I cannot afford to drop a hundred grand on a two hour show, obvious ba, hindi ako mayaman.

001

Mukmok-mukmok. I sat at the stairs trying to make sense of the unaffordable tickets.
004

I’ll ask nga my daughter.
005

A———– “Anak, I have a problem. I want to watch the Il Divo concert, but the tickets are so expensive, P32,000.
Oyen——— “Wow, so expensive naman”.
A———— “Maybe because the venue is smaller, lesser people”.

A———– “If you buy direct from Resorts World, it’s 30,000.  Still expensive”.

A———– “Yung Bruno Mars nga inayawan ko kasi P65,000 for 4”.

Oyen——– “If you really want to watch, just get two tickets”.

She Googled the details.   “Mom, if you have a Resorts World membership card, Platinum, you get 20% discount”.

Me———-” Wala ako nyan anak, they sent me a card but I didn’t use it”.

Oyen——- “I remember they gave you a card.  I have a Resorts World card 10% discount”.

Edmund—– “Tart, lets eat”.

Over breakfast of chicken arroz caldo, daing na bangus and fried chicken (huh, grabe sa terno)

Chicken arroz caldo (porridge)

007

008

A———— “Nonie, para saan itong fried chicken? Kailan mo ito niluto?”
Nonie——– “Kanina”.
A———– “Sa susunod kung manok na itong isa, wag ka ng magluto pa ng manok”.

She’s fond of doing that. She would cook nilagang baboy, then partner it with pritong baboy. A few nights ago, we had fried tilapia, steamed cream dory, and nilagang tuna belly. Fish festival.
009

A———- “Meron na namang Guinness World record,  mahilig tayo sa ganyan.  Ngayon naman korteng watawat”.

E———- “Very Tagalog naman yan, watawat”.

010

A———– “Tart,  ang mahal naman ng concert tickets”.

E———– “Bruno Mars na lang ang bilhin mo”.

(I am not inclined to watch Bruno Mars either).

A———–Do you think others charge the tickets to their companies?”

E———–“Siguro, may budget na yan”.

A———- “Mga executives , entertainment expense”.

A———– “Gaya ni neighbors, they’re going to Macao to watch Rolling Stones,. They’re also watching Bruno Mars.  I am sure they already have tickets for Il Divo”.

E———– “Ganun talaga, marami silang pera”.

A———– “Ilang building ang namana nila sa lolo pa lang nila, meron sa Ortigas Center, sa Binondo meron din.  Meron din silang building sa The Fort”. Meron na silang bala, tapos ang gagaling pa sa negosyo”.

After breakfast:

Me———– “Anak,  I’ve decided, I am not watching Il Divo na.  I don’t want to spend that much.  I can buy a lot of food na for sick people with that money”.
