We took a cab at 6:10 pm to Hotel Straf. We almost didn’t make it because the roads around the Duomo were closed due to a huge concert. The streets were full of pedestrians who were having fun or who were going to the concert. We were shocked to see thousands of people. The whole area looked so chaotic. At first, my reaction was that of regret that I booked in this hotel. I didn’t know naman kasi that there would be a major concert. I just wanted to stay near the Duomo because that’s where tourists go.
Coming from a large room at Starhotels Ritz, the room at Hotel Straf came as a shock. The motif is industrial, no carpet, cement flooring, and there’s no space for another bed. We have 3 luggage + the new blue one + my white trolley.
Hotel Straf is in a historical location and building and they’re not allowed to alter the original lay out of the building according to the receptionist that’s why the rooms are small. Actually the room is of decent size, except that there’s three of us.
The bathroom is made of brass.
Giant bottles of shampoo and cream conditioner.
I improvised by using two comforters, extra pillows, and the large bath towel as my blanket. It turned out to be more comfortable than expected.
Hotels near the Duomo and city center have smaller rooms and are a lot more expensive.
After we checked in, we went down to make usyoso what the ig fuzz was all about. There seemed to be a million people all over the Duomo.
Hundreds queuing up for a waffle.
It was really hard to walk straight without bumping into people. The hotel receptionist said that this’ a major concert and the people here are from all over Milan.
Grabeng kalat- pizza boxes, mcdo, cups, bottles, cans.
People were sitting on the road, sidewalks, eating, drinking, smooching,
meron pang mga nagsisigarilyo ng weed.
The bands and singers were Italians. Hindi namin kilala. Kung si Beyonce yan siguro makikisiksik kami.
