From Hotel to Charles de Gaulle

June 12, 2014

This is the anti-climax of every vacation— packing.

I found a way to discard 60% of my luggage contents. Now, my maleta is only 40% full.

Parang feeling ko, I didn’t shop at all.

Bye hotel, till we meet again. Hotel de Vigny has a good location if you want near Champs Elysees. But as in all hotels around this tourist area, the rates are stiff.

Emirates sent a complimentary limo service, a Mercedes van same as what they used to pick us up from the airport. At exactly 11:05 am, the chauffeur arrived at Hotel de Vigny. He even reminded us of our passports and tickets. Such a nice guy.

We allotted ample time, an extra hour, for the tax refund processing. Pag naka sabay mo kasi yung mga Asian neighbors natin na ang daming mga na-shopping at isang battalion sila sa dami, ang gugulo pa, baka ma-late ka sa flight. Kaya mabuti, to give extra time if you have many tax refund forms. It’s better to err in being too early kesa manginig ka sa nerbyos.

Meron tumunog when I walked through the security scanner. Sobrang maka-kapkap. Kulang na lang pisilin ang nip_les ko. I felt so violated afterwards. Para akong bangus na dinutdot at nabilasa. Sige na nga for the sake of national security.

We’re here at the Charles de Gaulle International Airport’s duty free shop. We have a few hours to spend in this small duty free area. I bought a small bottle of Maison de la Truffe and a box of fettuccine with truffles.

Nyke bought some macaroons from Laduree and a small bottle of champagne for New Year, tagal pa.

We haven’t had lunch and breakfast, time to eat for free at the Emirates lounge on the second floor.
