While waiting for my sister, I tried to do some cleaning in her kitchen. I found a drawer full of condiments from fast food restaurants. I placed them all in a plastic bag, ang dami, I was able to fill-up a whole grocery bag. Soy sauce, mayonnaise, catsup, etc. Some have been there since Magellan time, expired na yun tyak.
She’s home by 12:15. “Half-day monday” for my sister.
Instead of eating out, We ate the salad she bought the day before from Costco.
We went to Costco (again) kasi I forgot to buy white towels.
She always parks away from the other vehicles eh ang layu-layo. I forced her to park closest to Costco’s entrance. Worried sya how to get out.
The guy unloading Coca Cola merchandise was watching us.
Even on mondays meron ding food tasting. Nabusog ako.
Oyen asked me to buy CCTV cameras for our home. This Samsung sana but my wrinkles were so clear on the camera, very depressing. Wag na ito hahaha.
Aileen and I drove to Fremont from Costco (Union City) using the side streets. She couldn’t drive through freeway kasi ang bibilis ng mga sasakyan. Nanenerbyos sya. Eh lapit lang naman ng Fremont from Hayward.
We went to In & Out Burger muna while waiting for Bong who would be coming from his work in Santa Clara County.
Bong arrived after half-hour. He ordered burger, Len and I ate his French fries.
He parked his car and we all rode in Aileen’s vehicle.
We didn’t like to go inside Fletcher Jones’ Mercedes-Benz showroom na. There were enough vehicles to look at in the parking lot.
The sales consultant, Tom, is familiar with Filipinos kasi daw his house is surrounded by Filipino neighbors. He was asking us about lumpia.
When an American is exposed to our culture, he becomes less prejudiced. Yung iba kasi ang tingin sa atin walang mga pambili ng kotse.
He asked me to drive this ML 350 SUV, sya na lang baka magasgas ko pa. He drove a few blocks syempre while trying to convince us to buy it.
Makabili muna ng lotto ticket. This is $64,000 + tax
We got attracted to this smaller C300 similar to what my father had before (C230). Naku napakatagal na yun nung buhay pa sya. He only used it a few times, 600 miles nga lang ang inabot ng odometer. Dito rin sa Fremont yun binili.
When we rode inside, ang sikip, nasanay kasi kami na malaki ang sasakyan. Plus the interior is all black, parang madilim. It sells for US$42,000 yata plus sales tax.
(f you live in Manila or anywhere else in the Philippines, and you want to buy a car, buy a Ford instead and make sure from us, wag sa iba ha?}
Eto, Bong liked also, E class 2014 model. Price tag is $60,000 plus tax. Tom was giving us the key, ang puti naman ng leather baka madumihan namin. And we cannot afford the price tag.
From the Mercedes-Benz store, we went to Homegoods, malapit lang dun, a few blocks away. Dito na lang tayo mag-shopping.
Etong sheep, afford na afford namin ito.
Mahirap lang iuwi, won’t fit in a balikbayan box. Eh kasi naman ang mga boxes ngayon paliit ng paliit. They get smaller every year.
Aileen found the streets and traffic lights in Fremont confusing kaya we just convoyed going home. We followed Bong, using the side streets, no passing through 880 freeway.
I thought we’re busog, we ate again at home. Tapos at 12 midnight kain pa kami ng drumstick.
Bong———–“An, drumstick?”
OMB———— “Ayaw ko”.
Len———— “Plain vanilla sa akin”.
Bong———– “An ikaw?”
OMB———— “Ayaw ko”.
I saw them eating.
OMB———— “Sige nga ako rin, plain vanilla”.
I miss the drumsticks!
You look like youre having tons of fun! I’m jealous!!
