On our last morning in the US, we went out to have American style breakfast. We chose between Denny’s and Ihop. We’ve tried Ihop twice before. It was good but I wanted to try Denny’s out.
Edmund was hesitant because he said the place looked close already or baka no one eats there, that would mean the ingredients are no longer fresh.
He agreed to try it out. Contrary to Edmund’s suspicion that the restaurant could be empty, there was a half hour waiting.
There was a steady stream of people wanting to dine here. Some of them just drive away upon seeing the wait inside. I listed my name and the receptionist said it would be around 15 to 20 minutes. I went out and waited outside to enjoy the cold breeze.
It took Edmund several circles before he finally got a parking, and not around Denny’s but in the adjacent lot. I waited for him for about 15 minutes.
When we entered the restaurant, those waiting in line told me my name had just been called. When the receptionist came back, she recognized me and immediately led us to the table.
The whole restaurant was brimming with people, families having breakfast or brunch on a weekend. It was so nice to watch families bond together, eating and conversing, having fun together. Denny’s is an American family restaurant. Some old lady told me she and her husband have been coming here almost every weekend for breakfast.
The menu showed an extensive choice of salads, soup, steak, pancakes, etc.
We stuck to the breakfast menu.
Lumber jack for Edmund
The bacon was delicious but paper thin.
Pancakes with pumpkin flavored creme
Imagine we’ve been visiting America for three decades and we’ve never been to Denny’s.
We missed a lot.
