Whenever there’s an event requiring formal dress or long gown, super problematic ako. Too many things to think of: I look very buntis in gowns. What sandals to wear. What bag to use that would fit my camera/cellphone, lipstick, medicine kit, charger, perfume, peppermint rub, hair clip, tissue, makeup kit, and some money.
This simple coral gown by Amir Sali looks better on the hanger than on my corrugated body.
We skipped the wedding ceremony of Congressman Paolo Javier and Veca Yap at the Sanctuario de San Antonio Parish in Forbes Park. Paolo, 33, is the son of Antique Governor Exequiel Javier and Mrs. Elizabeth Javier, while Veca, 33, is the daughter of Albert and Veneranda Yap. We went straight to the reception at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-la Hotel.
We thought we were very late because there was no more traffic leading to the hotel’s lobby, and no ladies wearing long gowns standing in the lobby and at the registration area.
The bride’s parents were outside of the ballroom. The bride and groom were not yet there. We came at the perfect time.
Buboy, Albert (father of the bride), Edmund, and Philip
Albert, Ateng, Edmund. They play golf together every Saturday morning.
There’s a contest: Best Honeymoon advice you could give Paolo and Veca.
Alam nyo bang maraming honeymooners that don’t do it on their first night?
Kaya naman my advice was very simple and straight forward. I didn’t win.
They picked an old lady’s advice: Go to Rome and be blessed by the Pope. Corny yan.
Look at the extended floral decoration. I didn’t know whether to love it or to hate it.
We counted the number of vacant tables, around 10. Edmund said sayang ang pera.
Albert’s pure Chinese, I am just guessing he was the one who requested to have a lauriat menu
I asked for tea but I only sipped one drop.
The couple has a perfect name combination. Dapat pala the compatibility tests should include the names too. Kasi with the new generation’s hashtag, dapat your names must blend well.
Names of celebrity love teams are also joined together as one.
Example: Robin Padilla and Vina Morales—- Rovina
Theresa and Theodore————Thethe
Beef with black pepper. This isn’t a Chinese dish.
We were at table #51 beside the table of the parents of the bride and their other golf friends.
Ateng and Philip
Philip, Benjie, ___, Ateng, Albert, __, Edmund, Buboy
They were all teasing Edmund about his Club Championship.
That’s the problem in big weddings. You don’t even get to interact with the newly weds. Arrive, register, sit, eat, go. Kami we interacted with the parents of the bride and their golf friends kasi we were seated near each other. But the other guests, some were just there nasa sulok, kain tapos uwian na. There were tables with only 4 old people. Sayang yung food.
The emcee announced that we could bring home the flowers, not the vases.
When I saw the pink tulips at the presidential table, I picked them one by one.
E———–“Tart, tart, tama na yan”.
I heard him but I continued getting some more tulips.
The stems were very fragile. Konting movement lang, they snapped. Kulantoy na.
My efforts and thick face paid off.
I was so happy I took home some of the flowers. Itatapon lang yun dun sa hotel.
This bundle came from the tall vase.
The tulips were blooming the next morning. Hindi na sila kulantoy, naka tayo na yung stems.
I can’t get enough of this lovely flowers. I was so happy I brought them home. I gave them a new lease in life. And they made our meal times happier.
Hi Ms. A. Thanks for sharing your wedding party experience. The first night honeymoon advice that won, is corny, hahaha and the extended flower arrangement seemed ostentatious but a space hazard. Tama nga kumuha ka ng maraming tulips at masulit Naman your ensemble expense.
Hi Joey,
I didn’t want to say it but I also found the extended floral arrangement up to the floor completely unnecessary. Kahit maraming pera ang families parang sayang din at merong pwedeng matalisod.
can i know whos the stylist of the wedding reception? i like the design
Hi Edge, I am sorry I don’t know.
