The highlight of Oyen’s birthday tour was our lunch in North Shore to taste the Hawaii local favorite garlic shrimps. According to our tour guide, Giovanni’s is the original white shrimp food truck.
Giovanni’s truck was parked in an open space with trees, grass, abandoned food trucks. There were other food trucks and souvenir stalls catering mainly to local visitors and foreign tourists.
I took several angles of this table with attached benches so I could have one made for our place. Masarap pang picnic.

There was a short wait for orders. Since we hit lunch on the dot, there were about 50 plus tourists having lunch when we came.
More people came after we got our orders. We were lucky we didn’t wait too long.
The smell of garlic was intoxicating. The soft Japanese rice with garlic toppings and the medium-sized white shrimps were cooked in olive oil and garlic. I ditched the plastic spoon and ate all this finger-licking good garlic scampi. They were so so good.
Edmund wanted to try everything so we also ordered this super hot and spicy shrimps. No refunds were allowed.
Their lemon butter shrimps was so plain. It just came with a dip. The best was the garlic scampi.
I as worried there wouldn’t be any tissue paper inside the makeshift toilet.
My worry was unfounded. The place was squeaky clean and with a pyramid of toilet papers
We bought some souvenir Hawaiian t-shirts

There were also other similar food trucks around the North Shore area along the main highway. I’ve seen lots of tourists eating there too.
