Our next stop was at Turtle Bay on the North Shore of Oahu Island in Hawaii. We were in a hurry because our tour guide was going to start a five mile surf / water paddling at 3 pm.
We pulled over at Kamehameha Hway to take some photos.
The Turtle Bay has a coastline of some 7 kilometers. It was named due to the large number of green sea turtles that inhabit the area and laid eggs in the sand.
We saw a huge green sea turtle on the beach, probably wondering what’s with all those people surrounding him and taking photos and videos.
There are resorts and oceanfront cottages tourists could rent at Turtle Bay.
People come here for surfing, swimming, diving, fishing. The waves are stronger and higher during the winter months.
