My kids and I went to the ancestral home of Malu Veloso to try their home made cooking. While her staff were setting the table, she gave us a tour of the beautiful house she calls home.
Aside from bridal gowns and formal dresses, fashion designer Malu Veloso also makes fashion accessories like chokers, necklaces, earrings. She and her brother creates charming pieces at very reasonable prices.

Her mom pala was also one of Manila high society’s designer during her time. Malu proudly showed us some of her mom’s precious designs. These are heirloom pieces that are not for sale.

The little girl’s dress reminded me of Oyen’s dress I ordered from Malu’s daughter, Letlet Veloso, who used to have a shop in Forbes Park.
Oyen wore the white and blue dress on her 2nd birthday. I don’t even know where that dress is. I think it was stolen from the balikbayan box Edmund sent to our storage in Binangonan.
This thoughts triggered another emotional bout. My mom entrusted to me a tiny salmon colored cotton dress with smocking, embroidery, she told me to keep it kasi daw dress ko yun nung baby ako. Asan na yun? Ninakaw na rin? It’s my fault. I should have kept it in a vault. That’s my dress when I was still a baby. I would like to see it now. I would like to hold it close to my chest. My mom gave that to me. She told me to keep it but I didn’t. I am so careless with my things.
I truly admired the pieces. They’re all pretty. I didn’t buy any kasi I don’t wear things like this although maganda. I would like to go back to her place and buy a few things, ire-regalo ko siguro.
