(April 28, 2015, Budapest delayed post)
We were picked up by the shuttle bus from Sofitel at 7:30 pm for our wine pairing dinner at BorlaBor etterem, I noticed that the bus just went around the area, into the side street. Malapit lang pala.
It was windy and drizzling when we got off the shuttle. It was a bit chilly and to walk just a few meters was difficult.
As soon as I entered the building it felt warm and cozy because it’s located in a wine cellar on the lower ground floor (like a basement).
There’s a big gray candle at the entrance near the stairs. Nice place for a romantic dinner.
Oyen gave his brother a glass kasi he wanted to drink water.
Pang wash pala ito ng mouth after the wine tasting.
Every dish was paired with a particular wine kaya medyo matagal.
This waiter was great. Very articulate, professional, efficient, friendly. he just came back after working in London for a couple years as waiter. He moved back to Hungary because he missed his family. He’s single.
I had no idea what this was. I can’t be a food blogger. I just keep on eating without knowing what I’m eating.
Merong menu pero hindi ko naman mapagwari kasi hindi ko maintindihan kung ano yung nakasulat. Napansin ko lang, mura lang pala dun.
We made a special request to have chicken instead which was not on the menu list. Oyen and I don’t eat any of the wild meat like boar, veal, venison, ducks. We like wild mushrooms if that qualifies.
This crepe had cream fillings, no fruits.
It was chilly and drizzling when we got out of the restaurant. That street was very quiet too. My kids joined the children of Cynthia Nakpil to walk back to the hotel despite the almost freezing temperature.
Ayaw ko sana silang maglakad kasi ang dilim.
