I am beginning to think that my purpose in life is to patronize food. To consume food to keep the food industry afloat. I was probably born to be consumer, of food. Judging from the photos in my camera, there are more food photos. My online diary is looking like a food photo album. Or my life is generally about my katakawan. All I do is eat. Five days ago, I began to doubt my purpose in life. Or if there is even a purpose. As I aimlessly wander on earth, all I do is eat.
Oh my buhay showcases the obvious, that my life is just about eating.

Traffic in EDSA had me making a detour, via Mandaluyong. The travel time didn’t improve because just to get out of the business district, an hour had been lost, plus another hour to Greenhills. It was traffic along Wilson. When my vehicle stopped in front of Cardinal Santos Hospital, bigla kong naalal si Edmund. He mentioned to me that morning that he would go to Dr. Palafox’s clinic.
I phoned him and perfect timing, he just got out of Palafox’s clinic. He’s walking to his car. I told me I haven’t had lunch and that I would go to Greenhills to eat lugaw. He said he would join me.

Lugaw toppings, tokwa’t baboy for me, pansis luglug and bibingkang galapong
for Edmund.
I haven’t seen a Karyoka since college days. Maraming tindero nito sa Dapitan, sa likod ng building ng UST College of Commerce.

Lunch by myself, Juju Eats
I sent out my driver to get me a half order of crispy cat fish salad with extra order of catfish and half order of basil
Dinner by myself, Phobac
I sent out my driver to take out pan-fried beef cold noodle salad, two orders, and four orders of spring rolls. The extra orders are for my kids, in case they came home hungry.
I cooked tomato based pasta sauce with mushrooms, German sausages, etc.
Instead of eating rice and tinola, Antonia’s signature dish, I prepared pasta for our early meal before going to the airport.

My family had early supper at 5:45 pm.
It started to rain heavily while we were eating. The clouds were low and the lightning was scary. I told my children to stay away from the windows. We were supposed to leave for NAIA at 6 pm but I was scared to go out because of the lightning. We waited for a few minutes. We left at 6:15 pm.
Despite eating two plates of pasta, we ate again as soon as we reached the PAL Mabuhay Lounge.
The ube halaya was a new addition. I didn’t see it the last time.
I have never resisted eating lugaw in my whole life. Except siguro nung maliit ako, ayaw ko ng lugaw pang may sakit, walang lasa.
At the PAL Mabuhay lounger, I finished two bowls of arroz caldo (lugaw), then three slices of fresh mangoes, two pieces of adobo flakes sandwiches. I just tasted the ube halaya.
Loving food is an easy way to add more pleasure to your day. For that very reason, I’ve found that I do not get along with picky eaters. Personality clash. I’m too much of a glutton/bon vivant. 🙂
