My kids were guessing that our first order of the day when we arrive in SFO would be to dine at Chipotle. They were correct. We’ve been here 3 days and we’ve had Chipotle twice.
We came at 8:15 pm and the line of customers was up to the front door.
And what does one do while waiting? Observe people, look at their tattoos, mind their looks. Ganyan tayong Filipino, mapansinin. Unlike the Americans, to each his own.
A————“Dapat pag dark ang skin, mas colorful”.
E————“Dapat dito reverse, puti ang tinta”.
(referring to the girl in front of us.)
A———-“Gusto ko dito kahit naka tsinelas tayo pwede.
A———- ” hahahaha”.
E———- “Mukhang hindi pa nilabhan yung bra”.
A———–“Mas yucky yung puti sa BART, kunsuming-kunsumi ako”.
E———–“Alin dun? Yung teenager?
When Edmund saw the white bean candies I bought from Greenhills, he didn’t even want to taste it kasi daw pampa arthritis ang beans. Pero eto sa Chipotle, he always ordered black beans to go with his burrito carnitas. Tapos the next magre-reklamo, daing ng daing, masakit daw mga kasu-kasuan nya.
Chipotle is one of my favorites, too. I try to make my own version at home. It’s pretty good but, not chipotle-good.
Your observations on dress is so true. I love how it’s so casual here. People still judge but, not as much. I haven’t worn long pants or covered shoes in a year since living in Hawaii. And the only suits I have are for the beach. It’s a different kind of freedom.
Those stairs are so cute. I’d love to do that if I ever have stairs. /end of random comments. Have a great trip!
