I’m glad I’m able to visit my parents even once a year. I feel a deep sense of fulfillment as a daughter every time I am here. I imagine my parents souls are smiling seeing me and Edmund around even for a few minutes.
E——–“Wala tayong bulaklak. Sasabihin ng mama Edmund ano ba yan”.
A——–“Kuha na lang tayo nung pink flowers, libre”.
The pink flowers at the cemetery always save our day.
While Edmund picked some free flowers, I pulled some tall grass.
Edmund picked a bunch and put them in the cast iron vase that’s bolted to the ground.
The grass is dying in some parts of the cemetery because of drought.
His son-in-law-chore accomplished (putting flowers), Edmund started making usyoso the other graves.
E——–“Kamamatay lang nito, 92 years old”.
Bye ma pa, uwi na kami in a few days. Balik uli kami next year. We miss you.
I wonder how many more annual visits to my parents is God giving me. I would like to visit them once a year for the next 20, 25 more years. I hope Lord I am not asking for too much. Thank you.
