I liked the airplane that flew us last April from Clark to Qatar. It had wider and bigger compartmentalized seats. Seats were like cubicles. There were several compartments to keep personal items like handbags, shoes, etc. There was a mini bar. The tray tables were good for four people. There were extra cushions to invite more people.
The plane we took last October 30 on the same route was a lot smaller and looked a bit older. The seats were narrower. Look , dalawa kami on this row, dati this only had one seat.
Qatar’s flight attendants were attentive and courteous. There were at least two Filipinas in the business class section.
I was not excited with their a la carte menu.

Mixed nuts especially cashew may help keep nerves at bay. But it was not successful in curbing my nervousness during the 9 hours and 20 minutes shaky ride. Not vigorous shaking but it was consistent all through-out the flight which made me anxious. At some point, my tears started falling, I was really nervous. I didn’t get to enjoy the seat that could recline flat. I was seated up straight the whole time.
I ordered hot chicken soup to help calm-down my throat.
The soup had two rice balls which I didn’t eat. The taste of lemon gave it a nice kick.
Buti pa si Edmund, he enjoyed watching a movie and was able to sleep even for a while.
Edmund always ordered cheese plate.
I was not in the mood to eat kasi nga I was very anxious. Inip na inip ako. When I am in the office, para bang kauupo ko lang eh bago ko malaman alas kwatro na. When I am on the plane, ang tagal-tagal ng isang minuto. Para bang ang dami ko ng ginawa, nag Plants and Zombies na ako, Scrabble, tapos one minute pa lang nabawas.
I didn’t finish this sausage with cheese omelet. I found the egg too salty. I think it’s because of the kind of cheese they used.
Would you believe, I was able to watch a French movie in French language? All I did was read the subtitles. I was able to pick up a few words like…. oh I forgot na.
After almost ten agonizing hours, we safely landed at Hamad International Airport in Qatar. We proceeded to the Business Lounge area where there was a special immigration officer. Why special? Ang haba kasi ng pilikmata nya. Parang naka false eyelashes.
My husband was a bit perplexed because our checked-in luggage were checked thru all the way to Budapest. Eh I didn’t tell him kaya he didn’t bring extra supplies for our one night quickie in Qatar.
He expected me to remember everything because I was just in Qatar a few months ago. Sorry, makakalimutin nga ako. I couldn’t remember.
A van brought us to the same hotel where my children and I stayed at last April.
Room 530, Oryx Rotana Hotel
Oryx is a modern hotel and it looks and smells new. However, there’s no free internet in the rooms. For free wifi, go to the lobby. Sobrang hassle.
Ms Annie.. I forgot to tell u to bring at least a couple of Benadryl 25mg capsules to help u relax.. 😉 that’s what my cardio always prescribe for my panic and anxiety attacks, especially at night… 😉
the good thing is that it helps calm down my nerves and helps me sleep for at least 6-8 hrs without any side effects 😉
I have consulted 4 Cardiologists on this Benadryl treatment and they all say it’s the SAFEST and least habit-forming or NON-ADDICTIVE meds they can prescribe for patients with panic and anxiety attacks, most especially when they are travelling.. 😉
Maybe next time u travel, u could ask ur Cardio to prescribe some Benadryl capsules for u to help u relax during long flights 😉
I hope ur return flight won’t be as shaky and scary as ur flight going to Qatar.. 😉
enjoy ur vacation and pls be safe always.. 😉 God bless u and sir Edmund, Ms Annie.. 😉
thank you Pam
