We took a taxi across the Opera building at Andrassy Avenue to the Boscolo Hotel building where New York Cafe is. We paid 1,500 forint.
We have no prior reservation. It didn’t occur to me that my husband might yell at me for bringing him here tapos hindi kami makapasok. To begin with, he was not interested to see New York Cafe.
I saw a bunch of tourists standing outside and some were inside. Hmm mukhang waiting. As soon as I entered the door, I told the lady “we have no reservation, do you have a table for two please?”
lady—-“yes”.
O Bingo! No waiting even for two seconds. We went straight to a small table in the center. Last April. our group waited for almost an hour to get tables.
Vanilla shake for husband
We were only planning to have refreshments, but once we’re there, parang nagutom na rin kami. Although it was only 3 pm, this would be our dinner. No more eating heavy meal after this.
The big serving was sufficient for two people however I managed to finish 90% of this spaghetti bolognese.
The menu says New York ice cream cup.
It’s actually a bowl.
After our meal, Edmund and I explored the adjacent five star Boscolo Budapest Hotel’s elegant lobby. This area was under renovation when I was here last April. Ang ganda pala. The decor is not outlandish.
It took a little bit of timing and creativity to shoot this photo of the lobby of Boscolo Hotel. There were many photo bombers from the ocean invaders.
The place looks very elegant, in complete contrast to my get up. Mukha akong gusgusin. In my next life, I will build a house like this.
The two of you are a match. You both know how to entertain yourselves. Enjoy !
