Window Shopping in Vienna

Delayed post November 14, 2015

I didn’t go out the whole day on our last day in Vienna. There’s really not much to do except to shop. I packed my bags and rested.
I went out late in the afternoon, when it was already getting dark. I just walked around the plaza, enjoying the cold breeze, the sight of buildings, and window shopping.

There was a guy who offered to take my picture beside this giant tea cup. I politely declined.

instead of walking on the same pedestrian street where the major brands are, I took the smaller streets and I was surprised that there are also nice shops along the side streets.

There’s a store, Hockzeitslisten, selling very fine table cloths and linens. They’re located near fashion boutiques. I didn’t go in.

I could tell from the window that theirs are fine embroidered linens.

The Chanel store is right at the corner fronting the LV store.
I never intended to walk in but when I saw the black dress on the mannequin, bigla akong na-engganyong pumasok. It hypnotized me, come Annie come…..

Chanel dress

That would really look good on me. It would make my bulges disappear because it’s a tent dress. I will buy that dress.
I went in and touched the material, it’s soft, the underlining is exactly the same material used by Herve Leger. The more I looked at it, the more I got convinced that we’re a perfect match.
No one was attending to me. I waited for about 5 minutes before the one in-charge came.
Omb—–“Hi, I can’t find the tag, how much is this dress?”
She had trouble looking for the tag price. It took her a good three minutes looking under the skirt, around the hem, etc.
Then she found it.. it’s six thousand nine hundred Euro.
I didn’t hear it, tila nabingi ako. Ulit, Euro 6,900.
Asan ba calculator ko, 6,900 x 52 = P 358,800. Name-mental block ako. What are we talking about? Am I talking about buying a car? I think that’s the down payment for a brand-new Ford Explorer.
I have a lot of black dresses already. I don’t need one.

This Escada bag is pretty. The blue makes it prettier. My sister noticed that I was not shopping, even when we were in Prague. Although I need a black one to go with my business suit. I’ll just buy next year. ‘la ako sa mood.

Nothing to buy from this Hermes store. The bags are so limited. Puro shawls. And how many shawls does one need? I saw a blanket, it’s nice, it’s two thousand Euro.

I was going down the stairs, on my way out, when my peripheral vision caught a glimpse of a blue thingy. Teka what’s that? I went back. Oh it’s very pretty. #iwantthis.

I tried it on, nay ko po ang pretty pretty nya.

I made the cute sales lady try it on and see if it hurts. It does not. How could that be? It was very narrow, too bad my feet are wide.

Oh my, Sigh. goodbye, I hate to see you go…

I just took a photo of the specs.
Maybe in the future baka pumayat ang paa ko.

I first discovered the Etienne Aigner brand in Cologne, Germany some 22 years ago. Their items were made in Germany and Italy. They were priced a little bit lower than Bally.

Ever since I stopped going to Germany, I stopped buying Aigner. Then one day, I saw that they have a store in San Leandro. They were selling shoes and bags that were cheap, in comparison with those from Europe, plus the quality was way different. The items were from China. Kala ko they changed their brand positioning and moved their factory in China.

That’s why I was very surprised when I saw this Aigner boutique in Vienna. The items are of exquisite quality, far from the Aigner items sold in the US. And these items are made in Italy, not in China.
