Oyen’s Wine & Cheese Night

My daughter hosted her second wine and cheese / dinner last night for several of her high school friends.
It was more convenient to just eat here inside rather than setting up a table outside. Our family dining table only sits 1o maximum. Two chairs are broken, that leaves 8. I improvised by adding a round table with 4 chairs. 8 + 4 = 12 perfect.

I bought two packs of this paper table napkins from Hungary. I gave one pack to Det de Leon.

It’s time to use these dessert plates from Hungary.

I was at EDSA from 10 am to 2 pm. Yen and Nyke bought the cheeses, fruits, and greens.

I only started preparing for the food at 4 pm. Photo finish.

I placed a pack of Ghirardelli chocolates on a Capodimonte fruit tray.

I placed three bottles of Evian water in the freezer.

I instructed Ana to wash the lettuce thoroughly and to remove all yellowish leaves.  When I checked,  there were still a lot of decaying leaves and stems.
She said she didn’t notice them.
Salad

Our menu is fairly simple” aglio eh olio pasta, grilled chicken breast, smoked salmon salad.

This pasta has lots of minced garlic.

I put too much garlic.

I normally do not eat in front of the tv and in any location other than our dining area but I had a teleserye to watch so I brought up some salad and pasta so I wouldn’t miss Pangako Sa’yo. It’s ending next friday and I don’t want to miss the last remaining episodes.

I finished the salad and pasta. I ran down to the kitchen to get some more pasta during the commercial break.

I sent home the waiters at 10:45 pm. I went to bed at 11:40pm. Edmund told me the girls stayed up at 3 am.

      Naku wala akong recipe, basta hula lang.
      Lots of fresh minced garlic
      Chopped mushrooms (canned)
      chopped shallots
      salt and pepper
      olive oil
      white truffle oil

      I saute the garlic and shallots in olive oil for a few seconds. Followed by the mushrooms, season to taste with salt and pepper. When ready, I put white truffle oil.

      The one in the photo is linguine. I like the texture of fettucine or spaghetti better.

    1. From the company that caters during our simple company parties. P600 / waiter. Sometimes I gave them P750 when our party finished late at night.
