OMB Tweets # 44 - Oh My Buhay

If I were going to post all my thoughts, feelings, encounters, activities I had each day and moment, 10 hours won’t be enough , so once in a while I have the tweets for things that just come to mind while I am in front of the computer. Mundane things, petty, things that may not interest you at all.

1. Nyke’s girlfriend (oops no labels yet, not yet official) likes pink and sparkly things. When there’s a fabulous pair of shoes at our stairs landing, Edmund would say “Cinderella is here”.

2. I am trying to drink fresh milk but so far I only get to do it irregularly. I have yet to make it a daily habit for the sake of my crispy and crunchy bones.

3. I woke up earlier than usual last Sunday, I went up to the roof deck. I noticed we still have several potted plants surviving extreme heat and neglect. I watered them and gave them some tender loving moments by speaking to them. A simple “hi salamat ha buhay pa kayo, kawawa”.
It was relaxing and relieving.

4. This sorbetero is new in the village. First time I’ve seen him. I wonder where the two older guys are.

5. My ankalsya (coin bank) is 3/4 full, time to go to the bank.

6. Our aircon in the masters bedroom sounds like it’s grinding ice. Feeling ko nasa Razon ako. When the temperature is 20 or below, it produces ice. The when we increase the temperature to 23 or 24 to melt the ice, eto naman, it rains. The water drips on the sofa. MInsan I would wake up in the middle of the night perspiring. Ang init.
Finally my husband called Mit-Air. Buti na lang kumpare nya yun, isang text lang, eto na agad sila. They drained it and tested it for leaks. Luma na daw kasi (almost 10 years). The cost of cleaning and repair is P3,200. Ngayon naman, nanginginig kami sa ginaw. Even at 23 degrees, ang lamig pa rin.

8. Double burrata caprese with side order of salami, delicious combination, from Gino’s pizza. Went there with Nyke and Atty. Leo Anonuevo on Feb 26 friday afternoon.

9. Edmund joined the Sheik Group in Danang, Vietnam. Theirs was a group of about 28 Filipino-Chinese who like to play golf, drink and be merry. Except for Edmund, all of them speak fluent Fookien that’s why they’re called Sheik, from the word Intsik. Edmund played bad, he didn’t win a game.
Their next golf tour would be in October.

10. Oyen fell in love with Bohol and wants to live there. She’s now dreaming of putting up her own hotel and she already thought of a name. Ang bilis nyang mangarap.
She also finds the cost of food generally cheaper.
This is their restaurant bill for four people.

11. I still don’t have a name for our farm. It’s not yet a farm.
O—–“you only have birds”.
A—–“I’ll name it Annie’s Bird.
O—–“Annie’s BIRDs. With a very tiny letter s.
O—–“It’s better to have a farm without a name, than have a name but no farm yet”.

12. The hotel resort the sheik group stayed at in Danang. Edmund and two other fellows, took a PAL flight to Ho Chi Minh, then a 1 1/2 hour domestic flight to Danang. Malayo din.
I asked him if he has some Dong left. Dong is Vietnam’s currency. He said not many, only about one million. Wow, millionaire. One million dong pala is equivalent to about two thousand pesos. I suddenly recalled when we went to Bali, Indonesia some 19 years ago. That was the first time I felt like a millionaire. When we exchanged our dollars, I got four million Indonesian rupiah (US$300). Ang daming zero.
That was on May 27, 1997. We were enjoying the very fine white sandy beach and crystal clear blue waters of Bali, little did we know that there was a strong tornado that hit Jarrell, Texas and killed 27 people.
