After several quiet and simple weekends alone, I spent last Saturday hieing-off to Tagaytay with Julienne. I felt like a turista.

South Super Hway

We wanted to explore a new restaurant, one that we haven’t been too, but rated, or good. Problem was we did not do advance research. The Vietnamese restaurant which was getting a lot of good reviews required 3- day notice. Chef Paul’s Fire Lake Grill was a family favorite, but we’ve been there 30 times.

We went to that Greek restaurant by the road just off Sta. Rosa Hway. Nope, no aircon, humid, too close to the main road, one could hear every horn and broom broom, hmmm. We left.

We reached the end of the road, near the next intersection so we ended up eating in Bag of Beans. It wasn’t our first time that’s why my daughter was hesitant. She said it’s better to go to Fire Lake Grill. But I didn’t want to turn-around and drive back.

We opted for a garden table. We sat right beside this big jar with two mating gold fish.

Our table was under this old tree. It was sunny and the tree provided partial shade.

Well, we had buffet, P440++ per person. The choices gave me the impression that it was a breakfast buffet with tocino, langgonisa, etc. The best tasting dishes were mashed potato, mushroom soup and halo-halo. The spaghetti with meat balls looked and tasted so ketchappy. The rest were so-so. Laman tyan lang. They did not refill the salisbury steak so I had to request from the server. In fairness, they gladly brought -out a plate.

Julienne has a new camera and she takes picture of everything and anything

Bouillabaisse seafood soup, not good, tabang,

Spaghetti with meatballs con ketchup

Daing mix

good dessert selection

There were lots of flies that’s why the dishes were covered with plastic wraps.

Bag of Beans is expanding. A bakery corner, a function hall and this souvenir shop are additions.
