I spoke to my friend who’s an NBI official this afternoon. He was whispering on the phone. Nasa Davao pala sila kasi ipinatawag daw ni Presidente Duterte.
I called because a friend of my son was panicking. Someone forwarded to him nude photos on Facebook. Not his. When he saw the face of the guy, he was shocked to see the face of his cousin. His cousin told him that a few weeks ago, someone tried to extort money from him threatening to scandalize him. His cousin ignored it. Ngayon, the bad guy made do with his promise. Daming salbahe ano?
They come from a conservative family and very low key. Syempre nahihiya.
First thing to do if you find some offensive posts against you:
1. Screen shot including the name of the person/ his URL / even if it’s a fake account. Save this in secure file. This will form part of your evidence.
2. Screen shot all the comments. Trace them too. Go to their FB accounts. Screen shot their pages especially if their comments are damaging.
3. Find out as much as you can about this person. Magtatago yan under a different name pero kung magaling kang maghanap, mahahanap pa rin sya. You can trace the person’s online movements. Screen shot every movement he/she was making. These are all evidences.
3. Report and complain to Facebook. There must be at least 10 people complaining before FB will take the site down. Kung isa ka lang, hindi ka papansinin. Kailangan marami.
4. Read the cyber crime law
5. Execute an affidavit of complaint. Your lawyer can help you with this.
6. Print hard copies of the screen shots and attach to your affidavit.
7. Submit to the NBI office in Taft Avenue if you’re in Manila.
8. NBI will issue a subpoena to the person. They can also file a case directly to the fiscal.
NBI is swarmed and swamped with complaints so be patient. Give them time, otherwise go to plan B.
Plan B—- Ask your lawyer to file the complaint directly to the court.
If the one who published it most likely used a fake FB account:
1. Think when and where the photos were taken.
2. Who were you with? Who took the photos? The culprit could be one of them. You would know for sure.
My NBI friend’s advice is this: (all of you please take note):
If you find your nude photos on FB, just ignore. There are thousands daw if not millions of posts like that. Unless it’s a sex video, or something really damaging, then run to the NBI or in Crame. But if it’s just still nude photos, hayaan na lang daw. Para na lang daw nag pose sa magazine. (Imagine you’re a Playboy cover boy).
My advice (guys take note):
1. Do not go to FB so you don’t see your photos.
2. Delete nude photos or videos from your cellphone / laptop. If you lose your phone or your laptop gets stolen, the photo of your birdie will be all over Greenhills. (Mam, dvd dvd).
3. Wear pajama while having sex. Huwag na huwag maghubo.
4. Don’t pose nude unless ma ABS ka. You can be an instant celebrity, FHM model, Bench briefs model. Kung kulang sa ABS, magdagdag ng bilbil, mukhang ABS na rin yun.
5. Hindi ka pwedeng magpa picture na nakahubo kung pang langgonisa at chorizo de bilbao lang ang iyo kasi mae-embarrass ka pag kumalat ang picture mo. Don’t expose yourself unless you are sure that your ano exceeds the average size. Maliit na ngayon ang jumbo hotdog, dapat yung German Schublig. Kung hindi pagtatawanan ka lang ng mga guys/gays.
6. Don’t worry about women looking at you. We don’t look at those things. We stare!
7. I know it’s easier said than done pero kapalan ang mukha, tibayan ang sikmura. Eh ano ngayon kung makita nila ang cocktail hotdog mo. Inggit lang sila baka gusto magpa picture din ng nude. In a few days or weeks or months, people will forget about it. There would be more new nude photos coming, baka mas liit pa.
