Anne Fontaine White Shirts

The very first time I discovered the Anne Fontaine apparel brand was in Galleries la Fayette in Paris some 20 years ago. I was sifting through their racks of clothes hoping to find something nice and cheap. I found a white blouse that has an expensive tag price but considerably marked down, but still expensive for my pocket at that time. I didn’t know anything about the brand yet. I just liked the simple white cotton blouse. After trying it on and making several buntong-hininga dahil nga mahal, I bought it. That was the start of my few years love affair with Anne Fontaine.

After several years, I saw a store selling all white blouses in Rockefeller Center. I got so excited when I found out that this was the same brand as the blouse I had bought in Paris several years ago. I bought one again. Pikit mata kasi it was no longer sale, full price na.
Anne Fontaine Store in NY

The founder Anne Fontaine said that her inspiration to make white shirts started in 1993 after she saw her mother in law’s trunk in the attic filled with white shirts.

She opened their first store in Paris in 1994 and has since expanded to 85 boutiques in major cities worldwide.

I probably have in my closet half a dozen blouses from them and the last two are still inside the original store supot. I haven’t worn them. Why? Eh kasi tumaba na ako ng tumaba, at sila naman ganun pa rin ang sizes, pang mga payatot lang.
I stopped buying Anne Fontaine. I have so far dodged any impulse to enter their luxury boutiques to check out their nice white cotton blouses. They keep on increasing their prices and decreasing the sizes.
Let’s tick the boxes:
I like white blouses (check),
Hindi ako payat (check),
Over my budget at $300-$700 / blouse (check).
