Many times our prayers or what we request from God seem difficult. As Christians, our lives are intertwined with our faith in God. We believe in miracles. We humans always call on HIM for just about anything. One time I was at Zara in SM Fashion Mall, I overheard a woman telling her boyfriend that if God wishes her to have the dress, then she would have it. She liked a floral dress which her bf encouraged her to buy, but it was a little beyond her means. She surrendered her fate (to have the dress or not) to God. It’s also common to hear women say “Lord, pag pumayat ako, bibilhin ko yan”. God is our fashion consultant, shopping financier, trouble shooter, faith healer, defender, great adviser, mortgage redemption manager. He multi-tasks to keep up with all our insane demands.

We make bad decisions and reckless judgments. When things go wrong, we call on God. Oh Lord please save us. If only we could hear Him say “Sinabi ko na sa’yo huwag kang sumubo dyan, o ano ang napala mo? Tapos ngayon ako ang aabalahin mo”.

God must have infinite wisdom and patience. Imagine billions of requests are relayed to him every second. Look at the hundreds of people praying.

A few months ago, I cried all the time and feared I would just drop dead from all our problems. I was in total disbelief this couldn’t be happening.
But it was happening. It was like finding myself swimming in the deep Indian ocean and I didn’t even know how to float. The waves were too big. But here I am today, still alive and excited about the future, although I wrinkled tremendously because of consecutive bigger than tsunami personal problems. Last night as we were attending the Holy mass, there was a moment when I felt the urge to stand up and scream THANK YOU!

The past few nights, when I go to bed, I clasp my hands like this. I imagine myself holding on tight. Kapit lang. Everything will be alright.
