My friend is a licensed contractor in Nevada. He renovates the interior of homes and does minor repairs and repainting of exteriors.
He has a big nice house with a sweeping view of the valley. He likes to throw parties and invites people over. His mom cooks delicious meals but when it comes to lechon, they order from the Filipino restaurants which he finds a bit expensive.
He came up with a plan. He would fabricate his own litsonan.
A few months ago, he designed and fabricated a lechon griller that could grill two full sized pig at the same time and even a cow.
Some of his friends are trying to convince him to turn it into a business. They want to order lechon from him.
He threw a grand party for his mom’s 78th birthday last Saturday. Of course, the centerpiece was his home grilled lechon. His mom loved it and she ate a lot. She also cooked sinigang na lechon afterwards. She also cooked paksiw na lechon. She ate those for the next couple of days after her birthday.
Today, she’s in the hospital. She suffered a heart attack. My friend feels so guilty. He thinks it’s all because of his lechon griller. He said his guilt is killing him softly.
May she recovers fully. But please, no more one week of daily lechon sarap.
